In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the merger of Salem and Winston, the society will feature a presentation by:
Dr. Larry E. Tise
Topic: Detecting the Curious Wachovia Factor and Effect.
Dr. Tise will discuss the origins of the Wachovia Tract settled by the Moravians and its lasting effects.

Dr. Tise is the Wilbur and Orville Wright Distinguished Professor of History at East Carolina University. He is a former Director of the State of North Carolina Division of Archives and History and has written extensively, including several volumes in the series on local history in the area of Wachovia produced for the national bi-centennial in 1976.
